‘Lithos’ is a local visitor centre project for Hayfield Village. Its design blends into the moorland landscape of the Dark Peak with a green roof and locally sourced sandstone walls. Prioritising low-carbon materiality, the design supports biodiversity, ecological monitoring, and the preservation of traditional crafts such as dry stone walling and stone carving. Spaces including a cafeteria, gallery, and lecture hall foster community engagement while offering views of Kinder Scout to enhance wellbeing.
